Oud Attar

Oud is the deepest note in perfumery — the resin of the agarwood tree, warm and a little smoky, and the reason a single dab is still detectable at the end of the day. Peflora carries it three ways: Arabian Oud, White Oud, and an oud body perfume for when you want more projection.

How to choose

Arabian Oud vs White Oud

Arabian Oud is the darker, more resinous of the two — closer to traditional Middle-Eastern oud. White Oud is lighter and cleaner, and it is the easier one to wear in the daytime.

Why one dab is enough

Oud is heavy and concentrated. Applied lightly it develops over hours; applied heavily it stays loud and flat. Start with less than you think you need.

Best worn in the evening

Oud carries in cool air and can be overwhelming in heat. It is at its best for evenings, weddings and winter.

It lasts on fabric

Of everything we sell, oud is the note that stays longest on a shirt collar or a dupatta — often into the next day.

Common questions

What does oud attar smell like?

Warm, resinous and woody, with a faint smokiness. It is deeper and heavier than sandalwood, and unlike floral attars it develops noticeably over several hours on the skin.

Why is oud more expensive than other attars?

Oud comes from agarwood resin, which forms slowly and in small quantities, so the raw material costs far more than common floral or woody oils.

Is oud attar suitable for daily wear?

It can be, in small amounts — White Oud is the lighter of the two and works in the daytime. Arabian Oud suits evenings and occasions better.
